The Illinois Library Association Leadership Forum encourages and nurtures current and future leaders and develops and promotes outstanding leadership and management practices, both within ILA and the broader Illinois library community. The forum does this by:

  1. Mentoring new ILA members by encouraging them to be involved in the association and recommending them for committee membership, as appropriate;
  2. Providing leadership training through sessions at the annual conference and other events throughout the year;
  3. Establishing a venue for networking and communicating about leadership and management issues and practices; and
  4. Encouraging professional growth by fostering the idea of leadership from any position within an organization, both within ILA and members’ organizations.
